Process for Obtaining a Certified Language Translation
- If an individual is requiring certified language translation of an British official document such as a marriage/birth/death certificate or divorce papers, then an apostille must be obtained from the Foreign & Commonwealth Office (see link for website) to confirm that the document recognised legally. If the document is to be translated into English then the document needs to have an apostille from the appropriate government department from the originating country. - Scan your documents to be translated and the apostille (both sides) and send them by email (see address below).
- Once the documents have been received by Language Link UK you will be contacted by email to confirm the charge for language translation and the delivery time. Payment can be made by credit or debit card.
- When the translation is completed it will be bound with your original scanned document(s) and certified with our Company seal. Depending on what you decide the document can be posted by first class post or by special delivery (guaranteed next day). A charge will be made for special delivery.
- You need to take the bound documents together with your original documents to the embassy, Home Office or professional body.

Language Link UK charge for language translation by the total number of words to be translated. If you want to have the documents returned to you b special delivery, an additional charge will be made. Payment can be made to Language Link UK by credit card or debit card. The Company does not charge on a per document basis. Therefore it is advisable to obtain all the documentation for translation before requesting a quotation.
The Foreign & Commonwealth Office and embassies charge on a per document basis and normally require a cash payment.
